See exactly how a commission on a ledger entry was calculated — the final amount, the quota attainment behind it, and the tier that was applied — without leaving the Commissions Ledger. Use it to validate a payout or answer "why is my commission this amount?" for a specific entry.
Before you begin
You need access to Commissions with the Fullcast Pay permission to open the Commissions Ledger.
What you can see depends on your role:
Tenant admins and system admins can see an Explanation and Calculation details.
Non-admin users can see only the Explanation.
Open the explanation for a ledger entry
Go to Commissions > Commissions Ledger.
From the time period dropdown, select the period for the commissions you want to review.
Find the entry you want to review.
Click the information 🛈 icon on the entry to open the Explanation panel.
The Explanation panel shows the final commission amount and a step-by-step breakdown of how it was reached — including the values that fed the result and where each one came from.

Read the explanation
Within the Explanation, each step names a value and shows how it contributed to the result. Depending on the entry, you'll see steps such as the quota that was retired, the commissionable amount, the rate that was applied, the tier the entry fell into, and the final earnings.
For tiered plans, the breakdown shows which attainment tier the entry landed in and the reward calculated for that tier.
What each value means
Value | What it means |
|---|---|
Final amount | The final commission earned for the entry, shown in your corporate currency.
|
Quota retirement | How much quota this entry retired (the attainment it counted toward). This is what determines which tier and rate apply. |
Commissionable amount | The deal value that is subject to commission for this entry. |
Commission rate | The rate applied to the commissionable amount for this entry. |
Tier | The attainment tier the entry fell into. The tier sets the rate or reward used for the calculation. |
See the calculation details
Tenant admins and system admins get two additional, deeper views inside the Explanation panel.
In the Explanation panel, expand Calculation details to see the individual field values used and how each amount was computed.
Within Calculation details, scroll to the bottom and expand Full calculation data to see the complete calculation data straight from the calculation engine.
Use these to trace exactly how a result was produced — for example, which fields fed the deal value, or which tier rate was applied.
Note: Calculation details and Full calculation data appear only for tenant admins and system admins. Other users see the Explanation steps without this section.
