Cancel a sent document

You can cancel a document that has been sent but not yet signed. Canceling immediately invalidates the recipient's signing link — they will no longer be able to open or sign the document from the email they received. You must provide a reason when canceling.

Before you begin

Cancellation is only available for documents in Sent or Viewed status. Documents that have already been signed cannot be canceled.

Cancel a document

  1. Go to Documents > Document Management.

  2. Select the document group that contains the document.

  3. In the Document Recipients grid, find the recipient whose document you want to cancel.

  4. Click the menu ⋮ > Cancel Document.

  5. In the Cancel Document dialog, enter a reason for the cancellation.

  6. Click Confirm.

Warning

Canceling a document cannot be undone. Once a document has been cancelled, all approver and recipient signing links are permanently invalidated. If the document needs to be signed, send it again to generate a new signing link.
