Terminate Assignment in Fullcast


This article provides information and direction on manually terminating an employee. When an employee leaves the company you should terminate all assignments. For example, if the employee were assigned to multiple territories, you would have to access each territory to terminate them. This function removes the employee from all territories. 

For a more automated process, refer to the Configure the Terminate Employee Policy


  1. Access your Fullcast instance and switch plans if applicable. 
  2. Click Manage Coverage on the Territories tile. 
  3. Locate the applicable employee, click the More Options icon (three vertical dots), and select Terminate Employee.  

Note: Only active employees can be terminated. 

  1. Select the appropriate termination date and click Next. 

Note: This date can be backdated or future-dated. 

  1. Indicate what action to take for any active assignments:
Option Description
No Replacement
  • The employee’s assignment will end on the selected date. 
  • Decide what to do with the employee’s targets:
    • Delete the target.
    • Reassign the target to another employee.
  • Click Confirm.  
Permanent Replacement
  • Choose a replacement for the employee. 
  • The current employee’s assignment will end. 
  • Create a new assignment for the replacement. 
  • Decide what to do with the employee’s targets: 
    • Delete the target. 
    • Reassign the target to another employee.
  • Click Confirm.  
Temporary Replacement 
  • A temporary placeholder is created for the departing employee. 
  • The current employee’s assignment will end. 
  • Create a new temporary assignment for the replacement. 
  • Choose the employee who will temporarily fill the role. 
  • Decide what to do with the employee’s targets:
    • Delete the target. 
    • Reassign the target to another employee.
  • Click Confirm.
