Track where an account has sat in your territory hierarchy over time — when it was placed, every move between nodes, who made each change, and why. This article is for anyone who needs to trace an account's placement, such as Revenue Operations (RevOps) admins, territory managers, and support agents investigating a dispute.
Before you begin
An administrator must have set a Linked Field for Accounts so the account grid has a clickable link into the details page. To do this:
Navigate to Settings > Application Settings > Default Fields > Details Pages > Accounts.
In the Linked Field dropdown, select the account field that will be clicked to open the details page.
Open the territory plan where you want to trace the account.
Open an account's history
From the Territories tile, click Manage Accounts to open the account grid.
In the grid, click the account's linked field — the column your administrator set as the Linked Field — to open the account's details page.
Select the History tab.

Read the history timeline
The History tab shows one timeline for the account, grouped by day. Each row is a placement event — a point where the account was created in, moved between, or removed from a territory node. The Node column is where the account sat; where it has been is the trail of nodes down the timeline.
Each row includes these columns:
Date (UTC) and Time (UTC) — when the event happened. All times are shown in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Source — where the entry comes from: Current, Placement, Proposed, or Audit.
Event — what happened, such as Created, Moved, Removed, Soft-deleted, or Reactivated.
Reason — why the change occurred.
Description — a plain-language sentence describing the event.
User — who committed or proposed the change.
Node — the territory node the account was placed in or moved to or from.
The Status column is available from the column chooser but hidden by default.
Two rows are pinned so you always see the account's live state:
A row tagged Current is the account's current committed placement.
A row tagged Proposed appears only when there is a pending, uncommitted move. It shows where the account is set to go once the move is committed.
Change the time range and add detail
Use the Period control to change the range. The presets are 30 days, 90 days, 6 months, 12 months, and Custom. The default is 30 days. If the account has no events in the selected range, the tab shows that there is no recorded history for that period — widen the range to see older events.
Turn on Include Audit Entries to merge audit-log detail into the timeline. This toggle is off by default. It is limited to users with audit access; if you do not have it, the tab shows placement history only and tells you audit entries are unavailable.
Select the information icon on any row to open a panel with the full detail for that event — the node path, the from and to nodes, the reason, and who proposed and committed it.
Export the timeline to keep a copy outside Fullcast.
