Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in Fullcast to strengthen the users verification process and enhance the protection of user data. MFA is an authentication method that requires a user to provide two or more verification factors to obtain access to Fullcast.
Authentication options
Fullcast only allows you to use an authenticator application for MFA. You can use any authenticator application of your choice that you can download to your phone. When MFA is enabled, users must complete MFA configuration upon next log in.
Note
Only tenant admins have authorization to resend authentication. By default, the authentication field for the user is set to N/A.
Configure MFA settings
You can enable MFA in the tenant settings or for individual users. Fullcast settings are hierarchical and apply user settings first before applying tenant settings.
Log in to your Fullcast instance.
Go to Settings > Users
Complete the following steps to enable MFA at the appropriate level:
Click Settings.
Under Authentication System, select Fullcast Database.
Under Multifactor Authentication, enable the following as needed:
Enforce Multifactor Authentication—enables MFA for all users unless configured differently in the user’s individual settings.
Remember browser—allows users to select the option Remember this device for 30 days to skip MFA when they login for the next 30 days.
Click Save Settings.
Click User Management.
Find and select the user for which you want to configure MFA settings.
Click Menu > Edit.
Note
When you add a new user, you will configure MFA settings during the invite user process.
From the Multifactor Authentication dropdown, select the MFA setting you want to apply to the user:
N/A: Automatically applies tenant configuration MFA settings to the user.
Disabled: The user logs in without MFA.
Enabled: The user is required to use MFA to log in.
Click Save.
Authentication scenarios
Authentication requirements for users depends on how the MFA settings are configured in the tenant settings and user settings. The following table shows MFA requirement scenarios based on what is configured in the user settings and tenant settings.
User MFA setting | Tenant MFA setting | MFA passcode |
N/A | Enabled | Required |
Enabled | Enabled | Required |
Disabled | Enabled | Not Required |
Disabled | Disabled | Not Required |
