Change an employee role

Note

For plans exporting to Salesforce, avoid directly editing the user assigned to an existing active coverage assignment. Active coverage assignments have already been exported to the Account Team object in Salesforce and modifying them may cause inconsistencies.

  1. Go to the appropriate module (Territories or Teams) > Manage Coverage.

  2. Locate the employee you want to update.

  3. Click the menu â‹® and select Change Role.

  4. Complete the following fields, as needed:

    Field

    Description

    Old Role

    In the date field, select the effective date when the previous role will expire.

    Role of User

    From the dropdown, select the role the user will transition to.

    Ramp Profile

    From the dropdown, select a ramp profile associated with that role, if available.

    Type

    From the dropdown, select the type of role the user will transition to.

    Start Date

    Select the effective date when the new role will begin.

    End Date

    Select the effective date when the new role will end.

  5. Click Next

  6. On the assignments confirmation page, indicate what action you want to take for any assignments associated with the employee:

    Select one of the following options:

    • No Action: No changes are made to the assignment.

    • Permanent Replacement: Select a person as a permanent replacement for the assignment.

    • No Replacement: The assignment ends on the effective end date.

    • Temporary Replacement:  Select a person as a temporary replacement for the assignment.

    Replacement Coverage

    Select an employee you want as the temporary or permanent replacement for the assignment.

    Add Employee In New Role

    When enabled, the current assignment is end dated with the effective date and a new assignment is created with the new role.

  7. Click Next

  8. Optional. On the Move Teams screen, select if you want to move the user to a new team and the team you want to move them to.

  9. Click Next.

  10. On the targets screen, select the action you want to take for each target. Refer to the following for a description of all possible options:

    The Action you select for the assignments determines what options are available for the associated targets.

    Option

    Description

    Do Nothing

    Target remains unchanged.

    Move

    Target is moved to the new team node the person was moved to.

    • Optional. To apply the move to a future month select Apply changes effective from option and select the month from the dropdown.

    Delete the Target

    Permanently deletes the target.

    Reassign target to the permanent user.

    Reassigns the target to the person you selected to permanently replace the assignment.

    • Optional. To apply the reassignment to a future month select Apply changes effective from option and select the month from the dropdown.

    Reassign to the temp user

    Reassigns the target to the person you selected to temporarily replace the assignment.

    • Optional. To apply the reassignment to a future month select Apply changes effective from option and select the month from the dropdown.

    Assign to the TBR

    Reassigns the target to a TBR placeholder:

    • From the TBx User dropdown, select a TBR placeholder.

    • Optional. To apply the reassignment to a future month select Apply changes effective from option and select the month from the dropdown.

  11. Click Confirm.
