End coverage for an employee

When an employee leaves the company, changes roles, or when a coverage assignment is no longer needed, use the End Coverage workflow to ensure all assignments and targets are updated appropriately.

End coverage

The end coverage workflow is available for territory, team, and product coverage. When you select to end coverage for an assignment, you will go through two pages that display all assignments and targets associated with that person. If a person is assigned multiple assignments or targets in different modules, you select what happens to each assignment individually from one place.

  1. Go to the appropriate module (Territories, Teams, or Products) > Manage Coverage.

  2. Locate the assignment you want to end coverage for.

  3. Click the menu â‹® and select End Coverage.

  4. In the Effective End Date field, select the date you want the end coverage to take effect.

  5. On the Assignments page, from the first dropdown for each assignment, select the action you want taken:

    Description

    Do Nothing

    The assignment remains active.

    End Coverage

    Ends the coverage assignment.

    Permanent Coverage

    Select a new permanent assignee for the coverage.

    1. From the second dropdown, select a permanent assignee.

    2. Optional. If ramp profiles are available, from the third dropdown, select a ramp profile for the assignment.Subsequent dropdowns available for the Permanent Coverage selection.

    Temporary Coverage

    Select a temporary assignee for the coverage.

    1. From the second dropdown, select a temporary assignee.

    2. Optional. If ramp profiles are available, from the third dropdown, select a ramp profile for the assignment.

  6. Click Continue.

  7. On the Targets & Quotas page, from the first dropdown for each target associated with the assignment, select the action you want taken:

    Description

    Do Nothing

    The target and quotas remain active, but are unassigned.

    Delete Target

    Removes the target and quotas.

    End Target/Quota

    End the target and quota, but it is maintained in the system.

    Assign to employee

    Changes the assignment the target is associated with.

    1. From the second dropdown, select a person to assign the target to.

  8. Click Continue.

  9. On the Confirmation Summary page, review your changes.

    1. Optional. If you need to update any changes, click Change on the appropriate section.

  10. Click Save & Exit.
