The differences between Ebsta's Native Email Sync & Team Email Sync explained

Prev Next

This article outlines the main features of Ebsta's two email sync services; Native Email Sync and Team Email Sync, and the differences between them.

Native Email Sync

With Native email sync running, all your emails (sent and received) are automatically added to Salesforce as Tasks and related to appropriate Salesforce Objects.

Instructions on how to set up Ebsta's native email sync are found in the following articles:

Team Email Sync

With Team email sync running, all your emails (sent and received) are synced to Ebsta.  They are then visible in the Ebsta panel in the corresponding Salesforce records.

For information about installing and configuring Ebsta in Salesforce, a managed package application installed from the Salesforce App Exchange, can be found in the following article:

Key Differences

A key difference to note is that for native email sync, the record must already exist at the point the email is synced for it to be added as a Task in Salesforce. You cannot add historic emails to a newly created record.  With Team email sync however historical emails can be retrieved for a newly created record.

Please note that if you decide to have both native and team syncs running you may end up not having identical results for emails on a matching record.
