# Re-authenticate a master Salesforce account to Ebsta

Ebsta moves data to and from Salesforce through a single master Salesforce account, known as the connected authenticator. If that connection drops — after a password change or a permissions change, for example — data stops flowing until an administrator re-authenticates the account from the Ebsta Console.

## Before you begin

- You need **Administrator** rights in Ebsta.
- Find out which Salesforce user is the connected authenticator for your account. This is usually an administrator user rather than the person who uses Ebsta day to day, and it is the only user who can complete this process.
- Sign out of any other Salesforce session first. If you are already signed in to Salesforce, Ebsta uses that session automatically and does not prompt you to choose an account.

## Re-authenticate the master Salesforce account

The page you need is not linked from anywhere in the Ebsta Console — you have to enter the address directly. Clicking **Login** on the Console does not take you to it.

1. In your browser address bar, type `https://console.ebsta.com/signup` and press `Enter`.
2. Select the **Salesforce** sign-in option.

1. Sign in with the Salesforce user that is the connected authenticator for your account. Signing in with your own user will not re-authenticate the account.
2. On the **Connect Mailbox** page, click **Skip**. This bypasses the mailbox connection step, as it should already have been done.

1. Click **Activate** to start the re-authentication.

1. In the Salesforce permissions prompt, review the permissions Ebsta is requesting and click **Allow**.

2. Confirm you are returned to the Ebsta Console sign-in page at **console.ebsta.com**. The master account is re-authenticated and data transfer between Ebsta and Salesforce resumes.
