Export and import targets

Prev Next

Export and import targets to update an existing target in Fullcast, share target values with stakeholders for offline review, or maintain a point-in-time audit record.

Before you begin

  • Create a bottom up or a top down target.

  • The import file must be a .csv and include the following field values:

    • TargetId

    • RecordId (person level target) or nodeId

    • Total value

    • Monthly values or percentages (for timeseries target—if both are included, monthly value is prioritized)

Export a target

To ensure you import valid data, first export the existing target and update the exported spreadsheet before you import to update the target. Exporting also gives you a human-readable file for stakeholder review or a dated snapshot for an audit trail.

When to export

  • Before a bulk import. Exporting first gives you a file with the exact node IDs and target IDs Fullcast expects. Editing the exported file to update values — rather than building a CSV from scratch — is significantly less error-prone and eliminates the risk of ID mismatches.

  • To share for offline review or approval. The exported file is human-readable in Excel or Google Sheets. Node names and target values are visible without requiring access to Fullcast.

  • To maintain an audit trail. Save a dated copy of the export before and after any major plan change — for example, before a Recalculate & Distribute run or a mid-year value update.

  • To move data to another system. If your compensation platform, BI tool, or financial model needs target values, the CSV export is the standard format for that handoff.

What the export contains

The export includes one row per node per target. For timeseries targets, each row includes both the node's total value and its individual monthly amounts.

Note

Relief entries and ramp adjustments are not included in the export. The values in the file reflect goal amounts only. To review them, go to Manage Targets, click > Target Details, then click Display Options and set the view to Details.

Column

Description

Node Id

The unique identifier for the node in Fullcast. Required when re-importing the file — do not edit this column.

Target ID

The unique identifier for the target. Required when re-importing — do not edit this column.

Plan Name

The name of the plan the target belongs to.

Name

The name of the target.

Role Name

The role assigned to the target (for example, Account Executive).

Type

Whether the target is a timeseries or scalar target.

Fiscal Year Label

The fiscal year label (for example, FY27).

Fiscal Year Start Date

The start date of the fiscal year.

Fiscal Year End Date

The end date of the fiscal year.

Record ID

Teams module only. The Salesforce record ID for person-level rows. Blank for node-level rows in Teams targets. For to-be-hired (TBH), to-be-transferred (TBT), and to-be-replaced (TBR) placeholder roles, this column contains the placeholder's internal ID. Does not appear in Territories or Product module exports.

Node Name / Node Name/Person Name

The name of the node (for example, AMER, Growth) or person (for example, Sam Lee). Labeled Node Name in Territories and Product exports; labeled Node Name/Person Name in Teams exports, which include both node and person names. Placeholder roles appear with their TBx identifier.

Total Value

The node's total target value for the full fiscal year.

Target Minimum

The minimum value configured for the node, if minimums are enabled on the target. Appears only when the target has the minimum feature enabled.

[Monthly columns]

One column per period in the target's time frame, labeled by month and year (for example, 26-Feb, 26-Mar). Timeseries targets only — scalar target exports end at the Total Value column (or Target Minimum if minimums are enabled).

Export steps

The export always includes the node you are currently viewing and all of its child nodes. To export the full target, go to the top-level node first.

From the Manage Targets list:

  1. Go to (Territories | Teams | Product) > Manage Targets.

  2. Find the target you want to export.

  3. Click menu ⋮ > Export.

  4. Save the .csv to your device.

From within a target:

  1. Go to the node you want to export from.

  2. Click Actions > Export Targets.

  3. Save the .csv to your device.

Tip

If you're exporting to use as an import template for the full target, go to the top-level node before exporting — regardless of which entry point you use.

Using the export

The exported CSV opens in Excel or Google Sheets. If you share externally, consider hiding the ID columns (Node Id, Target ID, Record ID) for a cleaner view.

To update values and re-import: Update the values in the Total Value column and the monthly columns as needed. Do not edit the Node Id or Target ID columns — Fullcast uses those identifiers to match each row to the correct node on import.

To maintain an audit trail: The exported file downloads with the target name as the filename, with no date. Rename it before saving — for example, FY27_AE_Booking_Quota_2026-06-10_pre-recalc.csv — so you can identify each snapshot later.

Import a target

When you import changes to a target, determine if you want to overwrite the existing target data.

Note

Import will only update an existing target and cannot create a new target.

  1. Go to (Territories | Teams | Product) > Manage Targets.

  2. Find the target you want to import into.

  3. Click menu ⋮ > Import.

  4. Click Choose File.

  5. Select the .csv you want to import.

  6. For the Overwrite existing targets checkbox:

    1. If you select the checkbox: Click Next. In the confirmation window, type OVERWRITE and click Confirm.

    2. If you unselect the checkbox: Click Next.
