# Save a temporary report

When you create a temporary report from a module, you can save that report to a folder independent from a dashboard.

## Save a temporary report

When you create a temporary report from a module, you can save that report to a folder independent from a dashboard.

1. [Create a temporary report](/v1/docs/create-a-temporary-report).
2. Click **Save**.
3. In the **Save Report As** window, complete the following fields:

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Name** | Type a unique name for the report. |
| **Select Folder** | From the dropdown, select the folder you want to save the report to. |
| **Categories** | Optional. From the dropdown, select existing categories or type a new categories and press `Enter`. Categories are tags that help you filter and search for reports. |
| **Description** | Optional. Type a brief description for the report. |
4. Click **Save As New**.
