# Plan your routing policies

Before configuring routing policies in Fullcast, use this worksheet to plan each distinct routing scenario. A routing scenario defines how incoming records (like Leads or Accounts) are automatically directed based on specific criteria. A well-defined plan simplifies the actual configuration process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

2. Fill in all rows for each unique routing scenario you need to build.
3. For each row, review the planning consideration question.
4. Document your specific requirements in the **Your routing details** column.
5. Refer to the**Application in configuration** column to understand how your plan translates directly into setup steps.

| Planning consideration | Your routing details | Application in configuration |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Policy Type** What type of record will this routing policy apply to? (Lead, Account, Case) | Example: Lead | Select the chosen object type (Lead) as the policy type when creating the routing policy in Fullcast. |
| **Entry Conditions** What field values qualify a record for this routing scenario? | Example: Lead Status = Open AND Lead Source = Events OR Inbound Demo Request | Use these criteria to define the Policy Tag for this routing policy. |
| **Routing Scenario Description** What is the desired routing outcome and process for this scenario? | Example: Route to SDR in territory. Fallback: Round Robin SDR Team. | Build the Routing Stages within the Fullcast routing policy editor to match this logic flow. |
| **Target Territory Nodes** Which territory nodes will use this routing scenario? | Example: AMER - Enterprise; APAC | Apply or create this routing policy specifically at these Territory Nodes in your hierarchy. |
| **Territory Coverage Review** Are the necessary roles (SDRs, AEs) assigned to the active territory nodes for this routing? | Example: Yes, SDRs assigned at AMER - Enterprise parent node. (or No, APAC nodes missing SDR assignments) | Check: Verify role assignments. If required roles are missing, assign them to these nodes before activating the policy. |

**Sales development representatives:**Specialized sales professionals focused on outbound prospecting, lead generation, and qualifying potential customers to fill the sales pipeline.
