# Edit a target

Edit a target's settings, or its goal, schedule, and adjustments — for a single node or for multiple nodes at once.

## Edit target settings

Target settings are aspects such as the name, attainment metric, and applicable roles.

1. Go to the appropriate module (**Territories** | **Teams** | **Product**) > **Manage Targets**.
2. Find the target you want to edit.
3. Click **menu ⋮** > **Target Settings**.
4. In the **Target Options** screen, make changes as needed. See [Create a target](/plan-and-pay/docs/create-a-top-down-target#steps-to-create-a-target) for a description of each field.
5. Click **Update**.

## Edit target details for a single node

Target details are the goal value of the target, schedule, adjustments, and relief.

1. Go to the appropriate module (**Territories** | **Teams** | **Product**) > **Manage Targets**.
2. Find the target you want to edit.
3. Click **menu ⋮** > **Target Details**.
4. Click **Actions** > **Edit target details**.
5. Make changes to the target's goal, schedule, and adjustments, as needed. See [Configure a target](/plan-and-pay/docs/create-a-top-down-target#configure-the-target).
6. Optional. [Add target relief](/plan-and-pay/docs/adjust-target-relief-v2).
7. Click **Save**.

## Edit target details for multiple nodes at once

> Note
> 
> Top-down targets must be [distributed down](/plan-and-pay/docs/distribute-targets-top-down) first before you can edit the target for multiple nodes.

1. Go to the appropriate module (**Territories** | **Teams** | **Product**) > **Manage Targets**.
2. Find the target you want to edit.
3. Click **menu ⋮** > **Target Details**.
4. Click **Actions** > **Edit target details**.
5. [Select the nodes](/plan-and-pay/docs/select-a-group-of-nodes-for-a-target-v2) you want to add the target details to.
6. Toggle on the **Goal**, **Schedule**, and **Adjustments** sections to add and adjust for the selected nodes.
7. Update each section that you toggled on, as needed. See [Recalculate a target](/plan-and-pay/docs/recalculate-a-target) for a description of each section for the target type.
8. Click **Save**.
