# Delete a target

Deleting a target permanently removes it and its history from the plan. Use this when a target no longer applies and you don't need to keep a record of it — for example, a duplicate target or one created in error. To stop crediting further progress on a target while keeping its history, [end the target manually](/plan-and-pay/docs/adjust-a-target-manually#end-a-target-by-zeroing-out-remaining-months) instead.

## Before you begin

- Deleting a target is permanent. Fullcast does not recover deleted targets.

## Delete a target

1. Go to the appropriate module (**Territories** | **Teams** | **Product**) > **Manage Targets**.
2. Find the target you want to delete.
3. Click the ⋮ menu on the target's row.
4. Click **Delete Target**.
5. In the confirmation dialog, type **DELETE**.
6. Click **Confirm**.
