# Create a temporary report

When you create a report from a module, it is a temporary report that you can save as a standalone report that is independent from a dashboard, or you can pin the report to a dashboard.

## Before you begin

- [Create a dashboard](/v1/docs/create-a-dashboard) that hold a collection of reports in one place.

## Create a report from a module

When you create a report from a specific module (Teams, Territories, Product), your data source is the module you create the report from.

> Note
> 
> Reports are temporary and are not automatically saved when you create them from the module. You must [save](/v1/docs/save-a-temporary-report)the report or [pin the report](/v1/docs/pin-charts-to-the-dashboard) to a specific dashboard to keep the configuration.

1. Go to the appropriate module (**Territories**, **Teams**, or **Products**) **>**(**Manage Accounts**, **Team Organization**, or **Manage Products**).

2. Click **Actions**and select **Create a Chart**.

3. Use the [chart designer](/v1/docs/select-a-chart-to-design) to configure the report.
4. Click **Plot**.
5. [Save](/v1/docs/save-a-temporary-report) or [pin](/v1/docs/pin-charts-to-the-dashboard) the report.
