# Create a schedule profile

Schedules take the total target and distribute it across the year. A schedule profile is a template that you can create and reuse in your targets for a set percentage of the target distributed either monthly or quarterly.

1. Go to **Roles > Schedule Profiles**.
2. Click **New Schedule**.
3. In the **New Schedule Profile** window, complete the following fields:

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Name** | Type a unique name for the schedule. |
| **Frequency** | Select one of the following: - **Monthly**—distributes the target across 12 months. - **Quarterly**—distributes the target across each quarter. |
| **Categories** | Select categories from the dropdown, or type in categories and press enter to add them. |
| **Description** | Type a brief description of the schedule profile. |
4. Click **Create & Edit**.
5. In the **Schedule Details** section, click in each field and type the percentage of the target you want to distribute for each month or quarter respectively.

> Note
> 
> The distribution for each month or quarter is whatever amount you want and does not have to be equal, but the total between all months or quarters must equal 100%.
6. Click **Save & Exit**.
