Features

Account Hierarchy: Group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment

Figure 2

Figure 2 highlights the fourth option, “Group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment.”

This release introduces a new feature to ensure that accounts from the same ultimate parent family remain within the same territory. Previously, accounts could be allocated to different territories due to broken parent-child relationships. The new feature adds a fourth option to the account family grouping process, “group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment.” Specifically, this rule focuses on grouping accounts by ultimate parent. This ensures that accounts with a shared ultimate parent ID are consolidated into a single territory, even if they have been split due to factors like SmartPlans.

Scenario

Enterprise has a hierarchical structure with regions, districts, and territories. Each territory has assigned customer accounts. Region A has Districts 1 and 2, while Region B has District 3. District 1 has one territory, District 2 has two, and District 3 has three. All six accounts belong to the same ultimate parent ID.

The company decides to reorganize and consolidate territories under the region with the highest number of accounts. In Fullcast, they move the territories prompting input on how the records should be treated (see Figures 3, 4, and 5).

Applying the “group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment” option, Fullcast will analyze the districts and move accounts to the district with the highest number of ultimate parent ID records.

In this example, since District 3 in Region B has the most ultimate parent ID records, Districts 1 and 2, along with their territories, will be moved to District 3. Region A will become empty, Region B will inherit the territories, and territories A and B will roll up to C.

Region A: Empty

Region B:

District 3: Territory C (6 Accounts)

District 2: Territory B Empty

District 1: Territory A Empty

How to Move and Group Accounts

Figure 3

Figure 3 illustrates setting up the grouping option from the hierarchy.

There are a couple of ways to group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment: through the hierarchy menu, or by using the drag-and-drop method. To group via the hierarchy:

  1. Access your Fullcast instance and switch plans if applicable.
  2. Click Manage Accounts on the Territories tile.
  3. Select the appropriate ultimate parent node, click the more options menu (three vertical dots), and select Edit from the dropdown menu.
  4. In the Account Families section, select the “Group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment” option.
  5. Click Save and Exit.

Another option is to move the accounts in bulk through the toolbar:

Figure 4

Figure 4 illustrates moving accounts via the Move button.

  1. On the Accounts landing page, navigate to the appropriate node and select which accounts to move.
  2. Click the Move button in the toolbar.
  3. Identify where you would like to move the accounts.
  4. Identify how you would like your accounts grouped on the Move Confirmation modal.
  5. Click Commit Changes or Propose Changes as appropriate.

Figure 5

Figure 5 illustrates the process of grouping by using the drag-and-drop method. You can select multiple accounts at a time to drag and drop into another node.

Alternatively, you can drag and drop accounts into different nodes. This action will prompt a move confirmation modal where you will identify how you want your accounts treated.

Select the “Group all accounts belonging to the same corporate family into one segment option and click either Commit Change or Propose Change as appropriate.

Upgrades to Maps

Figure 6 provides an example map.

This release expands our coverage of postal code data to include Europe, Japan, and Canada. Additionally, we've implemented postal code carving for most European countries, including Ireland and the United Kingdom. This enhancement allows for more precise targeting and analysis based on postal code information.
